Permits Clerk ("we", "us") is a private filing-assistance service that helps small businesses prepare and submit seller's permit applications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Application information you provide — business name, entity type, EIN, business address, what you sell, and your name, email address, and phone number. We need this to prepare and file your permit application.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we never see or store it.
- Usage data — we use analytics (PostHog) and advertising measurement (Google) to understand how people use the site and whether our ads work. This includes standard technical data like pages viewed, device type, and referral source.
How we use it
- To prepare, error-check, and submit your seller's permit application to the relevant state agency.
- To send you status updates about your filing and respond to support requests.
- To operate and improve the website.
We never sell your personal information. Your application details are shared only with the state agency (to file your permit) and the service providers we rely on to operate — payment processing (Stripe), hosting, and analytics.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to measure advertising. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the application itself will still work.
Data retention and your choices
We keep application records for as long as needed to complete your filing and meet our legal obligations. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time — email support@permitsclerk.com and we'll take care of it.
